Artist Statement

Hervé is a multidisciplinary artist and designer whose work moves between collage, visual communication, and a broader exploration of how meaning is formed in everyday life. With a background in graphic design and photography, his practice sits between structure and intuition, where composition, balance, and spatial rhythm meet chance, fragmentation, and observation. Whether working on collages or design-led projects, he is interested in how images are never fixed statements but shifting constructions built from memory, culture, context, and perception. His work draws from modernist experimentation while remaining grounded in the visual language of contemporary life, creating spaces where familiar forms are broken apart, reassembled, and allowed to exist in multiple readings at once.

Atelier Hervé extends this practice beyond collage into a wider framework for thinking about design, language, and life as ongoing acts of interpretation. It brings together visual work and Untitled Studio, a series of sessions on perception that explore how meaning changes depending on context, framing, and attention. Across everything, the core idea remains consistent. Nothing holds a fixed definition and what we see is always shaped by how we look, what we bring, and what we choose to notice. The work is not about offering answers or conclusions but about slowing down the way we assign meaning in the first place, through objects, images, and experiences that remain open, unstable, and quietly human.
