Assembly Required
Midway Artist Studios, Boston
7 Feb — 28 March 2026
“Assembly Required” brings together a series of contemporary collages shaped by the quiet construction of everyday life, where familiar figures, gestures, and moments are reworked into layered scenes that feel both personal and shared. The title points not just to process, but to how identity, memory, family, and community take shape over time, built from small and often overlooked fragments. Through color, layering, and recognizable imagery, the work moves between intimacy and universality, with uniforms, domestic spaces, and everyday rituals acting as visual anchors that carry both individual stories and collective meaning. What feels simple at first reveals more the longer you look, much like daily life itself, and rather than amplifying the dramatic, the exhibition stays with the subtle, focusing on quiet resilience, routine joy, and connection through repetition, ultimately inviting a closer look at how the ordinary, when assembled with care, becomes something lasting.
